Graduation is more than a diploma 📜

Caps are flying, futures are bright—and while your graduate is ready to take on the world, don’t let them head into adulthood without the legal and healthcare paperwork that protects both of you.

Once your child turns 18, you lose automatic access to their medical records and decision-making—yes, even if they’re still on your insurance, living at home, or you’re footing the college/trade bill. Emergencies don’t wait for signatures.

Here’s what every new adult needs:

HIPAA Authorization – Grants you access to their medical info in case of an emergency.
Medical Power of Attorney – Appoints someone (usually you) to make decisions if they’re unable.
Advance Directive – States their preferences about life-sustaining treatment.
Life Insurance – If they have student loans, cosigned debt, or help support family, a low-cost term policy now can save financial stress later.

Legal forms vary by state.

If your grad is going to school in another state, they need paperwork for both their home state and the state where they’ll be living—just in case they need care away from home. One set of documents may not be recognized across state lines.

🎁 Give them the gift of independence and protection. Freedom feels a lot better when you know they’re covered.
